ZTE has won its second contract in four months from Vietnamese operators to build 3G networks. The latest, with Vinaphone, follows a deal with Viettel in May 2009.

Vinaphone owned by VNPT, the Vietnam postal and telecom organisation has commissioned ZTE to build all of its 3G networks in the central provinces, using its software-defined radio technology.

Zhang Jianguo, vice president of ZTE s UMTS/LTE products division, said: Our SDR technology will help Vinaphone maintain its leadership position through meeting the growing market needs while maximising their ROI to achieve the best business results.
