BEIJING, Dec 29, 2009 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- ZTE Corporation (SZSE: 000063, SEHK: 0763), a leading Chinese provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, is expected to sell 60 million mobile phones globally in the full year 2009, said its vice chairman He Shiyou.
The world's top three mobile phone sellers in 2009 are Nokia Corporation (NYSE: NOK), Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., and LG Electronics. ZTE has captured a 27% share of the 3G procurements from China's Big Three telecoms operators presently.
ZTE gained a mobile phone revenue of more than CNY 5.5 billion in the first half of 2009, rising 29.8% year on year, and its mobile phone sales volume increased 38% to 14.2 million in the third quarter of 2009, close to its rival Sony Ericsson.

The company will sell more 3G mobile phones in 2010, thanks to an increase in 3G user base, he said, adding that it will further extend reach in Europe, the United States, and China.
Notably, ZTE is predicted to become the fifth biggest mobile phone maker worldwide by 2009-end, outpacing Sony Ericsson, according to iSuppli.
