Write: Anno [2011-05-20]

ZTE Corporation, announced that it has collaborated with China Unicom to successfully deploy a green 3G network that utilizes environmentally-friendly, energy saving commercial base station equipment.

ZTE's green 3G base station site relies on wind and solar energy for operation. Compared with the same kind of base stations, this green solution reaches 100% energy-savings capabilities. Its remote-control feature requires no on-site manpower support and thus helps China Unicom save cost to further lower its TCO.

The green 3G base station site is located between the mountains in the Great Meisha area of Shenzhen, China. This wind and solar energy-based, integrated solution can be deployed in varying outdoor conditions: the proportion of wind and solar-powered energy functions provide flexible configurations to cater to the needs of various outdoor environments operators face. It contributes high energy-conversion efficiency with stable and reliable power supply. The system also offers zero-emission, zero noise as well as zero pollution that helps maximize environmental protection.
