ZTE revamps board and management

ZTE has restructured its board and management. The Chinese telecom equipment provider has appointed Shi Lirong as president, taking over from Yin Yimin, who had the job for six years.
ZTE said that Shi and his new management team will focus on analysing changes in the global telecom market, driving innovation and high-quality products in the wireless/wireline and handset markets, and satisfying the dynamic and individual needs of ZTE customers.
Hou Weigui, who continues as chairman, said: We are very confident that Shi, with his profound knowledge and experience in comprehensive fields ranging from technology, research and development, production management and long-term global marketing system, is capable of driving ZTE to the next level of success on the international business stage.
Shi has been executive vice president since 1999. Earlier he was VP of Zhongxingxin, one of the main shareholders in ZTE. He is an engineer, with master s degrees in telecommunications and electronic engineering from two universities, Tsinghua and Shanghai Jiao Tong.
Wei Zaisheng will continue to serve as ZTE s financial director, said the company. GTB
