Recently The People's Bank of China announced the results of "Technological Development Awards in Banking Industry, 2008" and all of nine technological outcomes declared by ICBC won the honors, among them, "Technological Criteria of Data Life Cycle Management" won First-class Award, 5 projects including "Project of Intra-City Backup for Host Computer System of Data Center", "Financial Management Integrated System", "Internal Consumer Credit Risk Rating System", "Foreign Currency Fund Business Processing System" and "RMB and Foreign Currency Financing Product Sale Management System" won the Second-class Awards, other 3 projects including "Securities Fund Third Party Storage and Management System under Multi-bank Mode", "Integrated Telephone Banking System Optimization and Integration Project" and "Online Shopping Mall Project" won Third-class Awards.
Since new century came, directed by the development strategy of "Leading by Technologies", ICBC makes great efforts to realize business innovation and management reform by playing the leading role of technological innovation so as to greatly enhance the supply ability and quality of financial services and start a new phase of building internationally first-class modern financial enterprise.
It can be said that the reform and development of ICBC is a history of application of sciences and technologies to banking industry in China, a history of reformation of bank system and business by technological innovation. It is said that since 2000, ICBC's 138 projects have obtained "Technological Development Awards in Banking Industry" in total, representing 22% of all winning projects. Among the nine winning projects in this selection, one was appraised as an international leading project, and six were appraised as domestic leading projects in the industry.
