ICBC edges up substantially and moves up to the fifth place in this year's list of the top 2000 public companies in the world announced by Forbes magazine earlier. ICBC is the first Chinese firm enters Top Ten in Forbes Global 2000 list.

Among the top 5 companies featured on the 2010 list, all are American firms except ICBC, they are: J.P. Morgan Chase, General Electric, Bank of America and ExxonMobil. A total of more than 100 companies to 113 from the Chinese mainland are on this year's list, 7 of them figure in the Top 100.

The 2000 corporate titans in the Forbes' ranking get a composite ranking not only from one metric such as sales volume, but based on a mix of metrics: sales, profits, assets and market value.
