ICBC Scores Notable Results in Hosting Wealth Management Seminars

Mr. Chen was only one of the participants learning a lot from the "Campaign around China for Smart Investment" held by ICBC, an awareness program of ICBC officially kicked-off on December 21, 2009 under the theme "Scientific Investment, Harmonious Life". The program serves to educate people on the right approach to invest, and invest smartly.

As of today, ICBC has organized over 19000 such activities. More than a million customers (in terms of person-time) participated. Through the efforts of ICBC specialist teams in explaining the right approach to accumulate wealth, spreading of financial knowledge and mentioning of the risk involved in making personal investments, the activities have played a significant role in helping investors to make the right decision.

As related by the ICBC spokesperson, for the past six months ICBC joined with other financial peers (fund houses, insurance companies, securities firms) and organized a large team of financial experts to hold promotional activities on smart investment nationwide in government bodies, enterprises, commodity markets, universities. The number of customers participating was more than a million. Meanwhile, ICBC in collaboration with China Banking Regulatory Commission hosted the exhibition for the public to learn more on wealth management and wealth creation. A million of free Guide to Smart Investment was sent out to customers. Besides, online sessions, blogs and forums which have drawn enthusiastic crowds to participate were meant for everybody to talk to the experts, understand how to invest and the risk involved.

Industry insiders believed that people gained better knowledge as the economy and wealth management market in China are moving forward. The "Campaign around China for Smart Investment" started by ICBC has been a good source for everybody to understand how to invest and accumulate wealth. Meanwhile, ICBC leverages on its background as a large bank to consolidate all the resources to put up an open platform for fund houses, securities firms and insurance companies to join and educate the public together, and set the first example for financial institutions to educate the public on how to better manage their funds.

This paves the way for the full launch of such activities in the country.
