As the only banking partner of the 2010 Asia Para Games, ICBC has taken various measures including hardware upgrade and staff training to cater financial services to the special needs of the Games. ICBC has also organized special training for the service staffs to understand the special features of financial services for Asia Para Games. Apart from assigning staffs fluent in foreign languages as duty managers and special service windows opened to serve non-Chinese speaking customers from overseas areas, ICBC trains the staff in key outlets to understand sign language. The effort is to let the deaf and dumb be treated equally without language barrier and enjoy the same fast and convenient services.
Besides, ICBC extends the range of personal FX products and services to increase the capacity to serve the foreign customers. Number of outlets offering full range of foreign exchange services in Guangdong province has been increased to more than 600. During the Asia Para Games, all ICBC outlets in Guangzhou city can provide money exchange services in over 9 FX savings currencies. Among them, one-fifth of the key outlets are able to provide currency exchange services in 18 foreign currencies, including many major Asian currencies, Hong Kong dollar, Macau pataca, New Taiwan dollar, Japanese yen, Singapore dollar, Korean won, Thai baht, Philippine peso.
