The Asset (HK) announced the winners of the Award for All-Round Excellence on Dec 14. ICBC joined the selected group of 19 Asian Pacific companies to win the highest honor - Platinum Award, also ICBC's second year winning of the same Award since 2009.
The Asset's Platinum Award for All-Round Excellence is given to companies who achieved excellence in corporate governance, financial performance, social responsibility, environmental responsibility and investor relations. The selection process went through the participating companies' questionnaires, interviews with investors and analysts. The Asset chose the winning companies from the opinions gathered on their management acumen.
In recent years, ICBC is committed to the development of corporate governance as the foundation to core competitiveness. That includes a modern corporate governance framework, independent and efficient Board of Directors, improvement in business management and financial performance, enhancement in risk management and internal control, efforts to maintain investor relations, good management on information disclosure and to be a socially responsible financial institution.
For the past one year ICBC proceeded steadily to oversee a transformation and maintain good momentum despite the complex business conditions. ICBC secures the first place in the global ranking of listed banks by market value, profitability and customer deposits. The Award bestowed to ICBC is a confirmation from the society and investors on ICBC excellence in corporate governance, business management, social responsibility and investor relations management.
