The SORALCHIN Oil Refinery, jointly-funded by China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Algeria, was put into operation in Algeria on April 5, 2007, marking the formal production of CNPC's fist integrated project combining both upstream and downstream operations in the African country.
The Refinery is located in southern Algeria, including atmospheric, gas fractionation, reforming and catalytic cracking units and some auxiliary facilities. It mainly produces gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and liquefied gas, and will in a position to be a secure supplier of oil products to the four southern provinces in Algeria.
