CNPC was recognized as one of China's Most Admired Companies in 2007 at a ceremony in Beijing on September 12. On behalf of CNPC, Vice President Wang Yilin picked up the award granted by Fortune magazine and Hay Group of the United States. Another four companies directly under the central government China Telecom, China Mobile Communications Corporation, Baosteel Co., Ltd. and China State Construction Engineering Corporation were also granted the title. All of the five firms are members of the 2007 Fortune Global 500. They won the title of "most admired company" as a result of their excellent performance, great contributions to society and profitable returns to shareholders, as well as their spirit of innovation. Fortune magazine and Hay Group launched the annual ranking of the world's most admired companies and the most admired companies in each country in 1997. |
