Since the 8.0 scale strong earthquake happened in Wenchuan, Sichuan Province on May 12, many foreign companies' senior executives have sent letters of consolation to Mr. Jiang Jiemin, President of CNPC, showing deepest condolences to the quake victims, sympathy for the affected families, and heartfelt concerns over the life and property safety of our company in the quake zone. They are also convinced that Chinese people will overcome the difficulties and rebuild their home. Some foreign companies and friends even donated to the disaster-hit areas through charities like Red Cross Society of China. On behalf of all the employees of CNPC, President Jiang Jiemin would like to express the sincere gratitude to all those foreign companies.
