The 5th NOC Forum held in Beijing

Jointly hosted by three Chinese oil companies to promot reciprocal cooperation and common development.

On November 7-9, Presidents, CEOs or their representatives of national oil companies form 20 countries and regions gathered in Beijing to attended the 5th NOC Forum, which is co-hosted by Sinopec, CNPC and CNOOC.
With the forum slogan as "Human in Harmony with Nature, Success in Win-win Cooperation", four Working Groups, i.e. Technology, Environment, Natural Gas and Best Practices, reported their progress in recent two years. The three Sessions, i.e. Environment, Energy Security and Sustainable Corporate Growth and Development, probed into their scheduled sub-themes.
CNPC President Jiang Jiemin delivered a keynote speech titled "Promoting Reciprocal Cooperation, Achieving Common Development". Abdallah S. Jum'ah, President and CEO of Saudi Aramco, host of the last forum, gave a keynote speech. Vahan Zanoyan, Chairman & CEO of PFC Energy International made a presentation. President of Sinopec Group Su Shulin delivered a welcome address, and CNOOC President Fu Chengyu presented summary and closing remarks. Zhang Guobao, Vice Chairman of NRDC and Administrator of National Energy Administration sent his written speech to the forum. CNPC Vice President Wang Dongjin hosted the Sustainable Corporate Growth and Development Session.
In his speech, Mr. Jiang pointed out that with the world's economy and industrialization continue to develop, the environment, energy security and corporate sustainable growth have become common challenges and due responsibilities for national oil companies. To deal with the current financial turmoil, closer cooperation among NOCs has more profound and strategic significance. Mr. Jiang advocated that NOCs should deepen mutually-advantageous cooperation in energy resources to safeguard the stability of international energy markets; strengthen international cooperation in new and renewable energy sources to jointly promote environmental stewardship; and enhance technology exchanges and collaboration.
The 1st NOC Forum was hosted by Algeria in April 2002, followed by Norway in 2003, Brazil in 2005 and Saudi Arabia in 2006. The forum is held every 18 months, participated by state holding NOCs which play important role of stewardship of their respective countries' national hydrocarbon resources. The forum provides a platform for chief executives from NOCs to share ideas, solutions and best practices.
