On June 8, the three days International Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition in China was inaugurated in Beijing. The conference is aimed at setting a communication and sharing experience platform for the decision layers and experts from major energy enterprises to discuss the development trend and technological innovation of the petroleum industry.
The conference is jointly organized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and Chinese Petroleum Society (CPS), and co-hosted by China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), China Petroleum &Chemical Corporation (SINOPEC) and China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC). Over 1,600 senior managers, experts and engineers from nearly 200 oil companies and service companies as well as research institutions in 37 countries are present at the event. Additionally, 40 international oil companies and service companies attended the exhibition.
At the opening ceremony, the Executive Committee Chairman of the conference, Vice President of CNPC and President of PetroChina Zhou Jiping delivered a keynote speech titled "Transformation and Opportunities of the Petroleum Industry".
