On January 25, at CNPC BaoJi Oilfield Machinery Co., Ltd. (BOMCO), China's first independently developed 9000 m monoclinic bottleneck marine derrick successfully passed a 15-day strict test, including the assembling of main body, load test, stress test, and form and position tolerance inspection, with main performance indexes meeting the design requirements. The 52-meter high marine derrick has a casing lifting capacity of 6,750 KN when wind speed is less than 36 m/s, and can withstand once-in-a-hundred-years windstorm. Especially, optimization of the design has minimized the entire weight of the derrick to reach a maximum energy efficiency ratio in its carrying capacity. Moreover, the re-arrangement of winch and crown block has saved a lot space at the drill floor. |
