CAE President Zhou Ji met with Dr. Prem Goel, President of INAE (Indian National Academy of Engineering) on September 8, 2010. First of all, Zhou extended warm welcome to Dr. Goel s visit and then expressed his hope that both academies should make joint efforts to enhance further collaboration and expand the cooperation areas as well as scale.
Zhou also that he hoped both academies should strengthen collaboration in areas like advanced information technology and engineering education, who also suggested joint endeavors to be made by both academies to build up a digital library for the engineering world. Dr. Goel extended his gratitude for Zhou s invitation and said that INAE is currently seeking better ways to promote closer ties and broader cooperation with CAE, as China has been developing at an amazing speed and INAE resembles CAE in terms of structure, function and mode.
INAE was founded in 1987 and has a total of 640 Members, together with 50 Foreign Members. INEA is composed of ten academic divisions, which are civil engineering, computer science and engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical and biological technology, electrical engineering, electronics and communications engineering, aerospace and aeronautical engineering, metallurgical, mining and material engineering, energy system and engineering and interdisciplinary science and technology academic divisions.
