Hong Kong stocks edged up 19.91 points, or 0.09 percent to close at 21,228.20 on Thursday.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index receded more than 100 points before noon after a 125-point higher opening. The barometer then moved upward and fluctuated just above the previous closing.
Turnover remained low, totaling HK$57.30 billion ($7.38 billion).
