HANGZHOU: China has confiscated 44.32 million fake invoices during a three month nation-wide clamp down on invoice related crime, announced the Ministry of Pubic Security on Tuesday.

Liu Jinguo, vice minister of public security, said China had solved 1,027 cases of invoice related crime, such as making or selling fake invoices, and caught 1,774 suspects during the first quarter this year.

Liu said, "despite the progress, invoice related crime is still rampant in some places."

The ministry would continue the crack-down till June.

The ministry would provide incentives to police officers who were handling such cases to boost morale. Any local public security agency that uncovered an invoice-related criminal gang with over 10 people and confiscated over 500,000 invoices could get a 100,000-yuan bonus.
