HONG KONG - China Mobile on Wednesday announced its unaudited net profit attributable to shareholders grew 3.9 percent year-on-year to 87.2 billion yuan ($13.1 billion) for the first three quarters of 2010.
In a filing to Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd, China Mobile said operating revenue during the period reached 352.6 billion yuan, up by 7.8 percent over the same period of last year.
The company's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization was 177.8 billion yuan, up by 6 percent.
China Mobile said their average monthly net additional customers for the first three quarters reached 5.3 million.
As of Sept 30, 2010, the company's customers recorded 569.8 million.
Since new customers were mainly low-usage customers and due to the steady promotion of tariff adjustment, China Mobile said their average revenue per user and average revenue per minute of usage continued to decline during the reporting period, while the voice usage volume maintained rapid growth.
The company's total voice usage volume for the first three quarters of 2010 increased by 19.4 percent compared to the same period of last year.
