Chinese shares opened moderately lower Tuesday, tracking losses in Europe and Wall Street overnight after Ireland was forced to accept a massive bailout from the European Union and the International Monetary Fund.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dropped 0.42 percent, or 12.2 points, to open at 2,872.17.
The Shenzhen Component Index lost 0.39 percent, or 48.37 points, to open at 12,255.18.
