Sinopec Tianjin Petrochemical plans to process 1.1-mil mt of crude in January, with daily consumption 9.7% higher than the previous month, a refinery source told C1.
The refinery saw increasing crude throughput after it expanded annual topping capacity from 5.5-mil mt to 13-mil mt in December 2009, the source said, adding it would continue to run at high rates in 2011 thanks to no turnaround plan.
Tianjin Petrochemical, located in Tianjin city in North China, brought on stream a 1-mil-mt/yr ethylene unit in January 2010, the largest single unit in terms of production capacity in China.
