Xiang Innovative Embroidery R&D Center Launched in Hunan Normal University

The Xiang Embroidery Innovative R&D Center was launched in Hunan Normal University on March 26. He Jihua, vice mayor of Changsha attended the unveiling ceremony.

Jointly founded by Hunan Shaping Xiang Embroidery Co., Ltd and Hunan Normal University, the center aims to extend Hunan's cultural creative industry. Hunan Shaping Xiang Embroidery Co., Ltd pumped 1 million yuan as start-up fund. The company plans to provide 8% of its sales income to cover the R&D expense of the center.

Last year, the Technology College of Hunan Normal University trained 120 skilled and hotly sought after female embroiderers for the Xiang embroidery industry of Shaping. The newly-established center is on a mission to transform the traditional Xiang embroidery into a creative industry. More efforts will be made to develop more embroidery articles as necessities, tourist souvenirs and gifts.
