The whole Jinan Forest Park is under construction now and will be opened to the public for free on October 2010.
It is learned that, in addition to rest, relaxation and camping, the park possesses the function of disaster reduction and shock proof . Squares and lawns for evacuating citizens and lifting of helicopters are built to meet requirements from transferring the injured and dealing with emergency.
After finishing extension, the area of Jinan Forest Park will increase to 69.5 hectares with Zhangzhuang Road on its south, North Campus of Jinan Municipal Sanitary School on its north, Xingji River on its east, and West Erhuan Road on its west. It is one of the few comprehensive public lawns in western city area of Jinan.
