The production of three summer (summer harvesting, summer sowing, summer managing) are late for over a week than that of former years, which is caused by the disadvantageous weather. i.e. the wheat this year suffers from drought in plantation period, early winter, and late spring as well as frequent cold wave.
By adopting such measures as strengthening wheat management, selecting qualified seeds, and guiding farmers to harvest and plant in a rush, the county effectively boosts the production increase and harvest. Currently, the three summer production work in Shanghe county is wrapped up. The machine-harvesting rate of wheat in the whole county reaches 99%, and the machine-sowing rate of corn 98%.
The summer grain crops hit a total production of 317,300 tons, increasing by 9,600 tons, accounting for 3.1% over the same period of the previous year, which is expected to realize production increase seven years in a row.
