Singing and Friendship

At 7:30 p.m. of last night, the melodious music and songs started at Downtown Shimao Square, City Square and Zhishui Square, the fair-sounding cantus attracted numerous Shaoxing people. At the square, the worldwide choirs from Australia, Belgium, Indonesia, and Kazakhstan, etc. got close contacts with Shaoxing residents, and culminated in the participation of 6^th WCG.

Journalist found the contestants from various choirs at the square concerts, looked have no more over cautiousness and solemnity which they normally had in daytime. They were singing, dancing and cheering on the stage, and trying to leave audiences the best impressions. With rounds of applauses and screams, the amicable and passionate atmosphere reverberated at each corner of the conerts.

At the Shimao Square, ladies in Shuixi Choir which is from the Qianxi county in Guizhou Province, fascinated heaps of people, they wore their own traditional silver jewelries and embroidered costumes. After their performance, many people requested to take a photo with these beautiful ladies.

In the concert, a lady wearing Australian national flag successfully caught journalist s attention. She introduced herself in English, her name is Denise, and her son Lachlan is the member of St. Paul's Chorale. Shaoxing people are so friendly and passionate, everyone is applauding and saying hello to us as soon as we arrived here, the reason that I am now wearing our national flag is to tell people that I am from Australia, meanwhile, I would also like to express the friendship between two countries.

The concerts received a very good reputation from domestic and overseas friends. The head of Kunstgroep Vredon from Belgium said: we feel very relaxed and free to perform here. I believe our performance is absolutely fantastic with such good stage and so many passionate audiences. Li Jinguang, a local resident, brought his family here, and waited for the performances earlier before the concert started, the Friendly Concerts offered us a good opportunity to participate in WCG, although I could not understand what they sang, music has no boundary, I could definitely feel up that atmosphere. The concerts provide local people a great opportunity to enjoy the worldwide top-ranked chorus, and it good for improvement of our artistic culture!

In addition, Shaoxing Beihai Primary School, Shuren Primary School, Shaoxing First Junior School, Jiangong Junior School, Shaoxing County Experimental Kindergarten and other domestic and overseas choirs contributed fabulous performances in the Friendly Concerts.
