The 13th Nairobi International Book Fair was held in Nairobi, Kenya by the end of September. The book fair is not only the largest in East Africa but also one of the major international book fairs in Africa. And the number of the international exhibitors coming to the exhibition is the biggest of all time. Attending the Nairobi Book Fair for the first time, China received attention and welcome from African readers.
The attendance of the book fair was organized by Zhejiang Publishing Joint Group. Three hundred kinds of Zhejiang published books are on display at the book fair, covering fields of literature, history, health, medicine and so on, giving an all-round display of Zhejiang and Chinese culture.
Zhejiang Publishing Delegation reached a number of agreements at the book fair on copyright trade and co-publishing with some publishing houses of African countries such as Kenya, Tanzania and so on. The projects in agreement are mainly in areas of health care, agricultural technology and children s books. Local students in Kenya like Chinese booth very much, and Chinese knots, Chinese fans and other gifts brought there by the delegation are very popular.
