The Japan Meteorological Agency has upgraded the northeast coast earthquake from 8.8 magnitude to 9.0 magnitude. According to the Kyodo News Agency, investigation conducted by the Japanese police shows that the northeast coast earthquake and the resulting tsunami have caused 1217 deaths.
The 15 members of the China international rescue team have arrived in the Tokyo Haneda Airport on the noon of March 13th and then headed for the most severely hit northeast coastal areas by the helicopter of the Japan Self-Defense Force to implement humanitarian relief. The international community is reaching out to help. More than 70 countries and regions and international organizations are going to send relief ships to Japan to transport relief materials.
