Guangzhou Xinhua Publication Group s Yuexiu Book Center opened on December 28 catering exclusively to young readers and offering more than 50,000 titles in a building that has a total floor area of 5,000 square meters.
The new book center is equipped with desks and chairs designed to look like an amusement park. The new facility is equipped with circular bookshelves with small holders full of colorful pictorials and bookshelves are flanked with sofas. According to Yuexiu Book Center officials, this area is designed for young children, allowing them to pick books in the same way that they would pick toys, thereby making reading a more interesting task for young children.
The section on the fourth floor offers books on humanities and social sciences and is equipped with a coffee bar and a musical instrument shop, providing a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of city life.
