It will cost a mere 10 patacas (1.25 USD) to visit Kai Kai and Xin Xin, the panda pair that China's central government presented Macao Special Administrative Region, the Macao Post Daily reported on Tuesday (Jan 11).
The newspaper quoted the Official Gazette as saying that the proceeds from the ticket sales will go to a recently established giant panda foundation that will promote panda research.
However, admission to the pavilion will be free for those aged 12 or below and 65 or above, according to the Official Gazette.
The panda pair from southwestern Sichuan province, which arrived in Macao on December 18, 2010, is currently undergoing a month-long quarantine at panda pavilion of Seac Pai Van Park in Coloane island.
Macao government has spent 90 million patacas (11.25 million USD) on a 3,000-square-meter pavilion complete with fresh bamboo storage facilities, resting rooms and high-security indoor and outdoor enclosures.
