The Guangzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League of China and the Volunteers Department of the Guangzhou Asian Para Games Organising Committee (GAPGOC) jointly announced last week that 100 volunteer families would be recruited from local residents to serve the Guangzhou Asian Para Games, which will be held from December 12-19.
Nearly 140 families signed up for the activity and 92 percent of registered families are from Guangzhou while the remaining eight percent come from nearby cities, including mostly Foshan, Zhuhai, Zhongshan and Dongguan. A hundred families will be selected as volunteer families, who will took disabled people to watch the Asian Games and around Guangzhou. Volunteer families also visited disabled people at local medical stations and offered local presents to disabled athletes.
