[Week 4, 2011] Wuhan-Guangzhou High-speed Railway Requires Real-name Tickets

The annual Spring Festival Travel Peak begins on January 19. Similar to previous years, all passengers traveling during this period will have to present a valid ID card when purchasing a ticket. The passenger's name will then be inscribed on the ticket and their identity will be checked onboard trains. The new regulation also applies to the Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed trains and ticket offices will only sell three tickets to each person in order to minimize scalping. The new policy does not affect short distance trains to and near Hong Kong.
