South China's Guangdong Province generated 784.66 billion USD in foreign trade in 2010, rising 28.4 percent year-on-year, local customs officials said on January 31. The province's growth in foreign trade was less than the national average of 34.7 percent.
The province's trade accounted for 26.4 percent of the nation's total trade and included 453.2 billion USD of exports, up 26.3 percent year-on-year, and 331.5 billion USD of imports, up 31.5 percent.
Guangdong sold 175.35 billion USD worth of new- and high-tech products abroad last year, up 25.8 percent year-on-year. Machinery and electronics made up 70 percent of the province's total exports.
