HK to donate 2.6 mln HKD for Pakistan, India flood victims

The government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) said on Wednesday (Aug 18) that it has approved three grants from the Disaster Relief Fund totaling 2. 6 million HKD to two relief agencies to help flood victims in Pakistan and India.

The three grants include 2 million HKD to Oxfam Hong Kong for providing relief to flood victims in Pakistan, 300,000 HKD to Save the Children, Hong Kong for providing relief to flood victims in Pakistan and 300,000 HKD to Save the Children, Hong Kong for providing relief to flood victims in India, according to a bulletin released Wednesday by the Information Service Department of the HKSAR government.

The grants are further to a 3 million HKD disbursement made earlier for World Vision Hong Kong to provide emergency relief to flood victims in Pakistan, taking the total value of grants to 5.3 million HKD. (One USD equals 7.772 HKD)
