Under the terms of the MOU, the Civil Service College will provide the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau (SAFP) of the Macao SAR government with training programs and consultancy services for the establishment of the new center. They will jointly organize seminars and workshops for Macao public officers.
The new center will be established and start operating this year, said Jose Chu, director of the SAFP.
"The signing of the new MOU highlights the further strengthened relationship between Singapore Civil Service College and the Macao Special Administrative Region," said Chu said at the signing ceremony.
The Civil Service College, the central learning institution for the Singapore public service, has designed and delivered three training programs for civil service of Macao since 2001. More than 3,000 officers have trained under the programs.
The signing of the memorandum was witnessed by Macao SAR Chief Executive Chui Sai On, who arrived in Singapore on Monday for a four-day visit, and Teo Chee Hean, deputy prime minister and minister of defense of Singapore.
