The General Administration of Press and Publication recently notified the Guangdong Provincial People's Government of its approval for Guangzhou to build a national-class digital publication base.
The Administration also expressed its hope that the base will adhere to the established principles, tap its advantages, optimize its growth environment, fulfill its functions as a demonstration site, further speed up the development of the new strategic forms of press and publication, promote the transformation and upgrading of the traditional industries, and contribute to the prosperity of the press and publication industry.
The base, to be named "Guangdong National Digital Publication Base", will be located at the Guangzhou Tianhe Software Park. The facility will be supervised by the Guangdong Provincial Administration of Press and Publication, and operated by the Guangdong Publication Group in collaboration with related organizations. Comprising a center and multiple parks, the base will take full advantage of the foundation and advantageous resources of Guangdong's existing publication industry. Centered on Guangzhou and featuring a strategic location, the project will specialize in developing cutting-edge technology, fostering the market, and facilitating the growth of a cluster of press and publication organizations. The base is expected to eventually become China's leading center for the press and publication industry and be home to a number of top publication enterprises and renowned brands.
