On March, 30, it was announced on the official website of the Guangzhou Urban Planning Bureau that a competition would be held on the conceptual urban planning of the Guangzhou International Health Industry City. This new city is to be located in the Baiyun District and covers an area of 124 square kilometers between the Taihe and Zhongluotan towns.
This competition is the first phase of the competition.. Five units will be chosen from all those who sign up for the competition, to draw up conceptual planning and urban design schemes. Winners of this phase will be eligible to enter the second phase of urban design competition. The competition will be open to the public and open for registration from design units both at home and abroad through the issuing of registration notices online. The pre-trial committee is responsible for the pre-qualification of registered design units, and the selection of the five successful candidate units.
The unit wining the first prize of the competition will get a scheme bonus of RMB 0.9 million yuan, second place RMB 0.6 million, the third place RMB 0.4 million, while the other two sRMB 0.1 million respectively. The total reward therefore stands at RMB 2.1 million yuan.
