In September 2010, the French
enterprise, Schneider-Electric (China), collaborating with Schneider-Electric
and University Union, launched the Reward for Diligence Project, a scholarship
for university students. The Information College of Donghua University has
recently signed up an agreement on DHU-Schneider Scholarship with
Schneider-Electric. This scholarship is for the excellent students in the
Information College to complete their studies, encouraging them to make
contribution to the society after receiving assistance form others, with an aim
to cultivate a group of college students equipped with professional skills,
pioneering knowledge and volunteering spirit.
DHU-Schneider Scholarship will annually allocate 60000 yuan for 20 students
(3000 yuan for each person) of the Information College. It mainly supports
students majoring in electrical engineering and automation. The applicants
should be sophomore, junior and senior students. For each student that gets the
scholarship, he or she shall accomplish a volunteering work of no less than 30
hours. The first batch of students rewarded with this scholarship all expressed
their gratitude towards the assistance of Schneider-Electric and their
willingness to requite the university and the society, and to advocate the
volunteering spirit through their own deeds.
Founded in June 2008, the DHU-Schneider-Electric joint laboratory in Information
College covers an area of 120 square meters with laboratory equipment worthy of
over 2 million RMB donated by Schneider Electric Group.
Information College, which has a long history of cooperation with Schneider
Electric, persistently attaches importance to cultivating students sense of
social responsibility and inspiring their initiative to serve the society. The
establishment of the scholarship can not only provide a good platform for top
students development but also lay a steady foundation for a better cooperation
between two sides in talent training, teaching and research.
