Chair of Department of Philosophy of Harvard University Prof. Sean Kelly visits RUC

RUC Vice-President Yang Huilin met with Prof. Sean Kelly, Chair of Department of Philosophy of HarvardUniversity, on Dec.18th, 2010.

Both sides had a discussion on the possible future cooperation in philosophy in varying aspects between RUC and Harvard. Vice-President Yang Huilin also exchanged views on the aesthetics of literature and art in Prof. Kelly s new book All Things Shinning.

Dean of RUC School of Philosophy Hao Lixin, Deputy Dean Han Donghui, Director of Institute of Modern Logic & Philosophy of Science and Technology Prof. Liu Xiaoli, Professor of moral philosophy Gong Qun, and the PhD student of RUC School of Philosophy Tao Xiaoyun who was visiting Harvard under the supervision by Prof. Kelly also attended the meeting.

On Dec. 19th, Prof. Kelly delivered a speech titled Thought and Action on the 2010 Beijing Workshop on Perception and Action co-organized by RUC School of Philosophy, Harvard Department of Philosophy and Institute of Modern Logic & Philosophy of Science and Technology.
