On June 15, China Planning Network (CPN) China Urbanization Summit was held at the Four Seasons Club of Star River in Beijing. The conference addressed urbanization issues with a focus on Transformation and Upgrade of Urban Industry under New Global Economic Climate.
Distinguished speakers included Nicolas Retsinas, former assistant secretary of US HUD, and Lawrence Hannah, former lead economist of Poverty Reduction and Economic Management of World Bank. Top international academics as well as representatives from government, business and public media gathered at the forum to brainstorm on the interaction between China s urban industrial evolution and urban planning.
The participants also discussed about how to upgrade urban industries and to direct the economy onto a sound track of high efficiency and sustainable growth through efforts in R&D, start-up incubation, financing, planning and development, etc.
