Prof. XU gave a seminar on "Multi-bit Sigma-Delta Modulator with Noise Shaping DAC about his latest research work and an overview of the frontier development in the field of microelectronics. XU proposed a new noise shaping DEM (NS-DEM) technique in an attempt to eliminate the trade-off between the SFDR and SNR of the M with the existing DEM in the seminar. Unlike most existing DEMs trading SNR for SFDR, the proposed technique improves both SFDR and SNR.
The seminar served as an eye-opener for the researchers and enabled them to closely keep pace with the latest development in the microelectronics field. Meanwhile, the researchers also took the opportunity to have a discussion on the next-step cooperation between IECAS and NUS.
