Sino-Ocean Land joins Zhongshan March for Charity

On February 9, Zhongshan s annual March for Charity benefit culminated in a march and recognition ceremony. Sino-Ocean Land (Zhongshan) Development Co. donated to the event and arranged for employees to participate.
A total of 102 teams reportedly took part in this year s march. Representing a variety of townships, public institutions, businesses and civic groups, the marchers set out from the gate of Sun Wen Park and the Zhongshan Road intersection, converging on Xingzhong Stadium. Spirits were high as participants waved colorful banners and called out slogans, their smiling faces proof of the great strides this city has made over three decades of reform and opening. This year s event raised RMB 66.3932 million and set new records for both participation and donations.
A product of the goodwill of the people of Zhongshan, the March for Charity dates back to 1988. Over the past 22 years, Zhongshan residents have collected and donated close to RMB 600 million. The event has received the National Award for Civic Innovation and the Nanyue Charity Award and been honored as one of the nation s Top Ten Names in Public Service. With its nationwide recognition, the March for Charity has put Zhongshan on the map.
