Main vessel of China fast neutron reactor successfully passed functional test

On 29th of June, after 36 hours straight hard work, the main vessel of China fast neutron reactor successfully passed functional test during the first time, which is manufactured by CFHI. This achievement symbolizes the milestone of energy projects in the 863 plan of the country the fast neutron reactor has realized great progress; and symbolizes the milestone of the fast neutron reactor vessels manufacturing in CFHI; as well as the first key point in the three confirmations of National Science Department, which is design confirmation, investment confirmation and progress confirmation.

The Northern Security Supervision Division of National Nuclear Security Bureau, headquarter of China Fast Neutron Reactor Project and Nuclear Supervision Company inspected the whole process of the functional test of main vessel for the China fast neutron reactor.

Mr. Liu Enqing, Vice Chief Engineer of CFHI, was presented the test site and checked the technical preparation, sealing condition, also directed the whole process of the functional test of main vessel for the China fast neutron reactor.

The functional tests include the pressure test, leakage test and stability test. According to the requirements of technical specification of China fast neutron reactor, when finished the welding work on the main vessel, it s needed to inspect the strength, of the vessel, leakage test and stability test.

The once through successful functional test of the main vessel for China fast neutron reactor is the result of great efforts of all technical, manufacturing and management staff, especially the efforts of the erection site staff.

According to the general planning of CFHI after the erection staff completed the functional test, they will fulfill the assembly work in the reactor.
