On Nov.6th, Li Ganjie, Deputy Minister of the Environmental Protection Department and General Director of the National Nuclear Safety Bureau and his entourage arrived at CFHI. His main purpose is to investigate how to solve the actual problems on the development of China's nuclear undertaking confronted with the present global financial crisis.
During his stay in CFHI, Li Ganjie and his entourage were given an account of the developmental situation of CFHI by general manager Mr. Wu Shengfu. Mr. Liu Dengyun, secretary of Commission for discipline inspection and president of labor union of CFHI, also accompanied their shop tour.
Wu briefly introduced the development history of CFHI, its technological upgrading and the development outline for the future. He pointed out that in the past five years, CFHI has blazed a trail of scientific and sustainable development by following market demands and guided by industrial policies of the State.
CFHI invested 300 million RMB (exclusion of investment on equipment) for the R&D of nuclear products in the past two years, thus made itself the sole Chinese fabricator who is capable of fabricating core forgings for primary system of nuclear island in terms of the 2nd and 3rd generations of nuclear forging technology.
Wu also indicated that, along with the building of the world's largest casting and forging base, CFHI will have the annual capacity of manufacturing high-low pressure rotor forgings for five sets of 1000MW-class nuclear or conventional islands.
Li Ganjie said that CFHI, as a leading enterprise in manufacturing major equipment, has made a great contribution to the national economy and development of national defense industry. CFHI's capability in nuclear sector is closely interrelated with and of great significance to the development of China's nuclear industry.
Li also expressed that during his visit he noticed the work in CFHI is in full swing and the giant products rows upon row are very impressive. CFHI's products are of strong competitiveness and occupy a great proportion of the market share as well as gained the customer s trust by good quality. Especially for its nuclear products, which taking account of 90% share of the domestic market, show a strong developmental momentum.
"It s still tough for CFHI despite the satisfactory situation." Li said on the meeting, "All the major forgings of vessels and steam generators of both the two nuclear power plants newly started by the State are to be made by CFHI. It has bearing with the key link in developing nuclear power in China. If CFHI cannot make it, it will be very difficult to carry out the national development programme for nuclear power. The task for CFHI is arduous and the road ahead is long."
"Development of nuclear power in China has stepped into a new era-whether from the prospect of environmental protection or the present global financial crisis", Li emphasized, "Nuclear products should be made in China and core technology shall be grasped by ourselves. CFHI undertakes a responsibility that will become much heavier.
" Li said he hopes that manufacture of nuclear products will be well organized and managed, while quality and safety must be put in the first place. He also expressed that the Environmental Protection Department and the National Nuclear Safety Bureau will, as always, support CFHI in its authentication and qualification, and provide safeguarding measures for nuclear production.
