September, 28-30, 2010 China (Chengdu) New Energy Int'l Forum was held at New International Conventional and Exhibition Center of Chengdu.
Organized by Chinese Renewable Energy Society (CRES), All China National Industry and Commerce Association, and Chengdu Municipal Government, the forum was presented by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and sponsored by Tongwei Solar. More than 1,000 attendees from over 10 countries and regions were present.
Board chairman of Tongwei Group, Mr. Liu Hanyuan, vice president Mr. Hu Rongzhu, assistant president Mr. Huang Qigang were invited to the forum. Mr. Liu made a keynote speech. He said,
The fundamental solutions to China s energy security problem, along with clean energy search and development have become major issues facing sustainable development, as well as existence and survival of human beings. These issues are of vital realistic significance and far-reaching strategic security significance, especially for fast-developing China with a rapid increase of energy consumption.
By comparative analysis of several common clean energies - biomass, hydropower, wind power, nuclear energy and solar energy in terms of their respective advantages, costs, conversion efficiency, energy distribution and utilization technology, we can conclude that solar energy is the most abundant, economical, clean and eco-friendly sustainable energy.
On the 28th, Mr. Liu made in-depth discussion with other leaders in the PV sectors about the existing problems of China s PV industry, as well as issues about European and American PV markets. Later on, he accepted interview from over 10 media.
On the 29th, Mr. Hu Rongzhu signed solar PV project agreement of intent with Shuangliu county government. At the New Energy Exhibition, Tongwei solar and Yongxiang polysilicon were one of most prominent exhibitors.
