From May 31 to June 6, nine sets of 334MVA/500kV single-phase autotransformer were successfully put into first-time operation in sequence. On September 6, all the six sets of 400MVA/500kV single-phase autotransformers passed the tests by the very first time, which remarks a new step for the single-column capacity of TBEA Shenyang s 500kV level transformer. Till now, no larger capacity transformers have been reported in domestic or foreign medias. Therefore, the success of 400MVA/500kV transformer not only symbolize the more mature of TBEA Shenyang s technology in the extra-large capacity transformer, but also Chinese enterprises has already reachedthe leading role in the R&D of extra-large capacity transformer in the world.
Compared with the simultaneous use of several sets of relatively small capacity transformers, these six extra-large single-phase capacity transformers remarkably decrease the volume, weight, floor space as well as spaces of substation, usage of switches, breakers and other corollary equipment,which is more convenient for the maintenance.Therefore, the research and development of such kind of productcomply with the country s relevant policies and fits for the purpose of constructing conservation-oriented society. It greatly shows the direction for future R&D of transformers.
