On April 2, "golden lions" (an art performed by men in lion-like costume) were dancing to the glowing melodies from large drums and wide trumpets at the SANY Beijing Industry Park in Changping District. With the highest civilian honors, SANY welcomed Governor Sonny Perdue, State of Georgia who flew together with seven of his colleagues from the other side of Pacific.
On behalf of more than 20,000 employees, SANY Chairman Liang Wengen cordially received these American guests. "SANY inked an agreement last September to erect a plat in Atlanta of Georgia with an initial investment of 60 million dollars, which was accorded powerful supports from the Georgia State Government, local industrial associations, and his Excellency Governor Perdue. SANY hence became a corporate citizen in Atlanta. I am more than glad to see Mr. Governor again in person in China," he said.
While at the SANY Beijing Industry Park, Georgia Perdue and his company at large took a careful look at SANY's rotary drilling rig production assembly line. SANY rotary drilling rigs manufactured there are already brand of first choice in China, Model SR360 of which independently developed by SANY is currently the largest tonnage across Asia, and also the first high-power, large-diameter one of its kind in China. The presence of SR360 put an end to China's long-time dependence on imported high-torch rotary drilling rigs, endorsing SANY as a world-class manufacturer of rotary drilling rigs.
When visiting, a greatly fascinated Governor Perdue personally got aboard a SR220C rotary drilling rig for hands-on experience. "What a terrific machine!" he said excitedly to Chairman Liang Wengen who sat by his side.
While talking with Chairman Liang Wengen, Governor Perdue said, "Today, I came to Beijing to personally experience SANY's culture, and I am deeply impressed by the company's production scale, development speed, and products innovation. What I admire the most is your products innovation capacity. It is not difficult for me to understand when I learned that you invest 5 percent of your sales revenue in research and development. Your products are outstanding in both functionalities and appearances. Hyatt Hotel where I lived when visiting Shanghai was just on the opposite side of the street to the tower (Shanghai Global Financial Center) whose top was being sealed up with your equipment. I really had a hard time imaging how concretes could be pumped up to a height of 492 meters!" The Governor concluded his speech by saying that the Georgia State Government would by no means disappoint SANY's trust, and that the Georgia State would help SANY put its engineering machinery production facilities on steam as early as possible, and to make SANY's operation in the United States as successful as it is in China. He was also looking to a chance to visit SANY's Headquarter in Changsha.
President Zhou Fugui of SANY America said Georgia State offers benign investment environment and economic policies. SANY's investment project has been unfolding very smoothly in this State. Authorities in Peachtree City have approved the general plan of SANY's research, development and production base there. SANY America is also bullish with its marketing campaigns, which has reaped in sales revenue of 35 million dollars in the first three months of the year.
