Changchun Jingyue Lake was unveiled as a 5-A scenic area on Thursday morning, February 23, 2011.
Five-A scenic areas are pillars of the quality tourism resources of China, representing the value of resources, the attraction of markets as well as the top-notch levels of service and management. Changchun Jingyue Lake was announced as one of the 19 newly certified 5-A scenic areas by the State Tourism Administration at a ceremony held on January 14, 2011.
Located in the southeastern part of Changchun, Jingyue Lake Scenic Area covers about 100 square kilometers of man-made forests, and 4.3 square kilometers of waters, with a forest coverage rate of over 80%. Its ecological, picturesque charm is characterized by more than 550 varieties of plants and 82 kinds of vertebrates as well as tower, forest bathing field, ski resort, golf course and many other scenic spots.
Jingyue Lake is one of the superb scenic areas under the key construction of Changchun. It has become the second after the Museum of the Imperial Palace of Manchu State as a national 5-A scenic area.
Deputy Mayor Teng Jiacai unveiled the 5-A plaque for Jingyue Lake Scenic Area.
