The Third Northeast Asia Development Forum Held

To further promote the regional economic cooperation and the opening up of Changchun-Jilin-Tumen, the third Northeast Asia Development Forum was held in Changchun on September 2. CPPCC Vice Chairman and Chinese Kuomintang Revolutionary Committee Central Committee Vice Chairman Li Wuwei, as well as Russian, South Korean and domestic experts, scholars and government officials spoke at the forum.

Deputy Secretary-General of the CPPCC National Committee, Chinese Kuomintang Revolutionary Committee Vice Chairman and Chinese Kuomintang Revolutionary Committee Jilin Provincial Committee Chairman Xiu Fujin, Chinese Kuomintang Revolutionary Committee Central Committee Vice Chairman He Pijie, Vice Chairman of CPPCC Shanghai Gao Xiaomei, Vice Chairman of CPPCC Shandong Province Li Deqiang, Vice-Chairman of CPPCC Hubei Province Zheng Xinhui, Vice-Chairman of CPPCC Shaanxi Province Li Xiaodong and Vice-Chairman of CPPCC Jilin Province Xu Xuehai attended today's forum.

More than 300 people, including the Chinese Kuomintang Revolutionary Committee Entrepreneurs from all over China, some well-known young entrepreneurs in our province and the Yanbian entrepreneurs participated in the forum.

Well-known economist and CPPCC Vice Chairman Li Wuwei firstly delivered a keynote speech on seizing opportunity, innovation and development to promote Northeast Asia regional cooperation in post-crisis era. He proposed the development philosophy of "holding a group in the arms to warm each other, strengthening cooperation for win-win situation", which aroused a strong resonance from the participants. Russia-China Friendship Association President, Russian Academy of Sciences Academician and Far East Research Institute Director Mr. Titarenko delivered a speech themed by "Research on innovation and development of the China-Russia regional cooperation mode". He believed that the unprecedented excessive cutting of trees and uncontrolled discharge of sewage seriously damaged the environment, to which we should pay sufficient attention. Changjiang Scholar, Chinese People's University Professor and Doctoral Supervisor Huang Taiyan expressed his views on the development of Jilin under the context of the cooperation of Northeast Asia, and presented the great prospects of the development of Jilin under the context of the cooperation of Northeast Asia from his unique perspective. Director of Gangwon Development Research Institute of South Korea Kim Jeong-ho expressed his views on giving full play to the role of the free economic zone and promoting cross-border cooperation in Northeast Asia, and demonstrated a new idea on enhancing cooperation in Northeast Asia. Deputy Director and Doctoral Supervisor of Urban Development and Environment Institute of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and young economist Wei Houkai shared his strategic thinking on promoting the opening up of Changchun-Jilin-Tumen by combining with his research direction. He has participated in and led the preparation of the revitalization planning for the Northeast region, so he has original ideas on many issues. Party Secretary of Siping City, Jilin Province Liu Xijie is a scholar official, he combined with actual work and probed into the characteristic development model of regional economy. As a more successful case of development, his speech aroused great interest from the participants. Jilin University of Finance President, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor Song Donglin talked about the significance of speeding up the construction of the Changchun-Jilin-Tumen pilot area for opening up from the perspective of making efforts to promote regional economic integration and industrial restructuring. In particular, he stressed the importance of the word of "beforehand", that is, going and trying beforehand. Northeast Asia Research Institute of Jilin University President, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor Zhu Xianping was the last to give a speech. As a senior research specialist in Northeast Asia, in his speech he focused on the importance of opening up in the border region.

After the forum, the participating entrepreneurs also take part in the project docking and signing event.
