On the afternoon of 6th April, Dr. Ouyang Guangwei, the Vice-President of Douglas College, Canada visited Huizhou University and was warmly received by Secretary Li Xiufeng and President Yang Haitao. In the Conference Room 222 of Administrative Building, both parties discussed overthe possible cooperation between the two universities.
First, Secretary Li welcomedVice-President Ouyang and said, To further promote the international exchange and cooperation between Huizhou University and other foreign universities, and also to encourage the students to study hard, Huizhou University has been carrying out a series of exchanges and cooperation with foreignuniversities or enterprises in recent years. The results have been highly encouraging, for example, the student exchange program between HuizhouUniversity & the University of Houston-Downtown. President Yang said, It will bring us win-windevelopments to cooperate with other universities both at home and abroad. The cooperation with DouglasCollege will provide more opportunities enabling our outstanding students to study abroad.
According to Dr. Ouyang, DouglasCollege, established in 1970, is a public collegein British Columbia in Canada and has more than 12,000 students. It consists of seven faculties including Faculty of Business, Humanities, Science and Technology,Eco-environments, Languages, Arts and Continuing Education etc. Dr. Ouyang said that most students in HuizhouUniversity can find theirequivalent subjects inDouglasCollege. He is looking forward to the first batch of HZU exchange students in the near future.
