On Nov.10, the Deputy Minister of Higher Education of Cuba, escorted by the Consul General of Cuba at Guangzhou, visited SZU. The Party Secretary of SZU, Mr. Jiang Tanyu, met with the Cuban guests at Rm.205 of the President Office.
Mr. Jiang briefed the development of SZU since the Chinese reform and opening-up policy initiated 30 years ago. He also talked about SZU s commitment to international exchanges and collaborations.
The Deputy Minister expressed her appreciation for the welcome extended by SZU and praised the progress SZU had made in the past years. She elaborated the history and current development of Cuban s higher education and mentioned the existent collaborations between Chinese universities and Cuban universities. She hoped that in the future more Cuban students would choose SZU to study Chinese language and culture.
SZU Vice President Prof. Ruan Shuangchen also attended the meeting. Afterwards, the guests visited Jin Gong Fang, the SZU lathe center for engineering students and were shown around SZU s beautiful campus.
